I decided to sit in the back and close the sliding door and lock the van. I have managed to get into the rear of the transit like houdini and manage to unlock the black knob on the inside of the sliding door. I have a similar problem in my ford focus when locking using the central locking fob door all doors will lock and then immediately reopen. The sliding door on my 2008 van won t open.

Hi i have a ford transit lwb 2009 the problem is the side door will not lock with central locking key fob but front and rear tail doors do so was advise that the side door locking mechanism at fault. I tend to lock mine then double lock it then use the bottom button to unlock the back only. Now will not respond to even a hard door slam and vehicle with 8 000 in stock and parts is not lockable. In my case i could have probably unhooked the yellow.

I had to take out the lock to repair and decided to show whats happening when rotary knob gets stuck. I hit the central locking button on the key and seem to be able to hear the release clicking but cannot open the door. I can be there for ages sometimes just trying to get in my side door. I have put this down to a knackered electric block in the drivers door a blue block.

Removed mechanism and fitted new mechanism to side door still wont lock have you any advice wiring seems ok. The van locks securely and with the dead lock feature working as well. Interior lights and door ajar light required extra slamming of drivers door to go out for several weeks. Basically i have just unplugged this block until i get it fixed.
